I’m going to keep this relatively short, but it’s a complaint that You should certainly read. Have You thought about or do You have Home appliance insurance? Well I had mine with Sears Home Warranty (Powered by Cinch). My oil tank was a covered item, and it sprung a leak. Toxic fumes filled every room of the house. My Daughter was 9 months pregnant. When finding out the fumes could be harmful to her and fatal for the Baby, we informed Sears Home Warranty (Powered by Cinch), that we couldn’t afford to wait 3 days for their technician to come out and then wait even longer for the repair/replacement. We had tried a repair (magnetic seal) and it was ineffective. We had the replacement done that same day by someone local, then we asked Cinch for an exception to policy. The policy is that if their technician doesn’t do the repair/replacement, they will not pay the for the insured appliance. We’ve always waited for a technician in the past, but we simply couldn’t risk losing the Baby. We asked them not to pay the amount that we paid for the replacement, but only the amount that they would have allotted had they done the work. The replacement was well into the thousands of dollars and Cinch said that they would not make an exception to policy, even when human life is on the line. It’s all a part of the ‘War on the Home.’ Let me explain.
