Should Homosexuals Be Denied Marriage?
September 23rd, 2015
The 1st Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances
Really that says it all but it does bring up other questions. Are you an American first or a Christian, Muslim, Jew etc. first. America does not have a religion and is unable by law to legislate religious beliefs. I’m glad for it. “In God We Trust” applies to anyone’s higher power. I think being a better American makes me a better Christian. Two keystones allow me to say that, “Judge not lest ye be judged” and “Do unto others as you would have done unto you”. I think these are the spine of the American outlook.
I believe homosexuality is abnormal by sheer numbers alone. I also find it abnormal because one can not procreate by it. Left to itself the human specie would die out in one generation. I won’t pretend to understand how a hairy, or muscular, or, any other manly attribute is appealing but that wasn’t always the case. When I was a little boy I was curious about other little boys and their body parts. It goes to say at that age there were very few manly attributes. A few years later my boyhood behavior worried me. Was I gay? After I got over my fear of being gay I learned that in today’s research they’re finding that being curious about the same anatomy is more normal than not. I certainly didn’t find the ground to persecute homosexuals.
To this day I use the word “fag” though I know I shouldn’t and some will call that persecution. I will not, however, legislate my personal religious belief onto others. If homosexuals were not allowed to patronize any businesses under the religious beliefs of their owners they could not enjoy an industrial existence. If America gets into the business of legislating religion what religion should hold the highest merit or office?
“Do unto others as you would have done unto you”. If I was born with the chemistry of a female it would be a hard pill to swallow. If I was gay for any reason I could only hope that I would find some understanding. “Does the vessel ask the potter why hast thou made me such?” Surely I would ask God that question and I would walk to my judgment day with it knowing that it is not man who can condemn me to hell but God alone. So I would not worry about man’s judgment only God’s. “Judge not lest ye be judged.” I am not the authority of God and would not condemn an axe murderer to hell. It would be of no effect. If you do believe you can condemn someone to hell or speak for God it is your 1st Amendment right to do so. The Supreme Court has also upheld that it is another’s right not to listen.
If an establishment is a public establishment they must serve the public and all that it entails. If it is a private establishment they can pick and choose who they want to serve.

If two people having the understanding to consent to marriage and all the obligations, trials, and benefits there of I would let them marry. WWJD. Maybe he would simply touch them and change their chemistry. I can’t. Until next time, keep your homes well.
