What About Bad Parents? 12/17/2014  December 17th, 2014

Bad parents would get fired. There would still be foster homes, adoption and for older more independent children there would be group homes. Every institution we have today would still exist. They would just function differently.  They would have to function better. If a teacher or social worker (every family would have one) believes that a child is being raised in a harmful setting they would have to prove it to the courts with witnesses and accounts of wrong doing. Exactly what wrong doing is would stay in constant reassessment and be specific to each home and family. What’s the genetic map telling us and how do the immediate surrounding effect that map? Every social worker, daycare worker, and parent would have to stay current on the best and most updated training and the best that technology and social sciences can provide.

If someone were an amazingly good parent they may be asked to be promoted to a foster parent or social worker. There would be no cutting of the corners when raising children. Children would go to school in a social setting for four hours a day (if proven beneficial) and be home schooled for three or four hours a day. Parents would spend a lot more time at home; securing it’s health and well being. It’s difficult for some to imagine what a country with an economically based focus on the home would look like. I can imagine it and it works beautifully.

Questions about whether someone else should be able to outlaw my trans fat, salt, and 20 oz soda because they don’t think I’m not emotionally stable enough or intelligent enough to make the decision for myself would all come to resolution. I think the answer is to work on the emotional stability and intellectual insight. I don’t need or want the Government to be my parents. With all that needs attention today politicians gridlock on important issues and legislate child enforcement on adults just to be doing anything at all. It’s time to let children be children and adults be adults. In most cases there is no better person to raise your children than you. Until next time, keep your homes well.
